In a groundbreaking event, Mercedes Benz India has introduced its highly anticipated electric SUV, the Mercedes Benz EQE 500 Electric SUV, to the Indian market at an introductory price of 1.39 Crores.
Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes Benz India, discussed the innovative approach of the new Customer Experience Center, moving away from large showrooms to boutique outlets. One such center was inaugurated in Vadodara, and soon customers will have the opportunity to visit the plant in Pune, configure and book their cars, tour the facility, and even test their vehicles on an off-road track, all in collaboration with partner Ritz Carlton.
Additionally, Mercedes Benz has taken a significant step in promoting electric vehicle (EV) adoption by opening all its fast chargers in India to all brands, offering 140 charging stations across the country.
Design and Appearance
The Mercedes EQE SUV retains the sleek lines and precise body curves found in the brand’s other electric vehicles. It incorporates practical design elements such as aerodynamic wheels and a sealed-off front grille from previous EV models. The EQE SUV comes equipped with air suspension and 20-inch wheels, which can increase the SUV’s ride height by 25 mm. The vehicle’s dimensions are impressive, measuring 4,863 mm in length, 1,685 mm in height, and featuring a 3,030 mm wheelbase.
Advanced Features in Mercedes Benz EQE 500 Electric SUV
One of the standout features is the 56-inch Hyperscreen display, standard in the EQE 500 SUV. This innovative setup comprises three screens seamlessly joined by a thick piece of toughened glass on the dashboard. These screens serve both entertainment and information purposes, including the digital instrument panel. The EQE also offers advanced amenities such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a Burmester sound system boasting 15 speakers, a cabin-wide high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter, and front seat massaging features.

Technical Specifications of Electric SUV
Under the hood, the EQE 500 SUV features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration and comes with an off-road package as standard. Powering this SUV is a robust 90.56kWh battery, capable of supporting up to 170kW of DC fast charging. It boasts an impressive WLTP range of 550km. Performance-wise, the SUV reaches a top speed of 210 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.9 seconds, thanks to its 408 horsepower and 858 Nm of torque.
