Ather Energy’s Plans on e-scooter

Ather Energy aims to dominate the Indian e-scooter market by expanding its market share from 13% to 30% by 2025.

Ather Energy has introduced budget-friendly alternatives for two electric scooters, namely the Ather 450s and Ather 450X. A key factor contributing to Ather Energy’s dominant 75% market share in the performance-oriented scooter segment is the exceptional performance offered by both of these electric scooters, making them stand out as top performers in the Indian electric scooter market.

They plan to introduce two new affordable electric scooters alongside their performance-focused models.

Furthermore, Ather has intentions to step into the electric motorcycle arena, with a potential unveiling around 2027. However, there is limited information available about this venture. Notably, Ather Energy seems to be taking a patient approach, not rushing to compete with Ola, who has also announced their electric motorcycle. Ather appears to be prioritizing careful production planning over speed.

Ather’s focus extends beyond performance scooters, as they aim to tap into a larger portion of the e-scooter market.

Ather Energy is establishing a new platform for electric two-wheeler production, with a new product expected before the upcoming festive season.

They are adopting a more conventional design approach to create family-oriented, unisex e-scooters to appeal to a wider audience.

Ather Energy plans to expand its retail network to 200 outlets in 120 cities across India by next March. Despite being a premium brand, their products have received a positive response even in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns, prompting a shift to a franchise model.

The competition in the Indian e-scooter market is fierce, with Ather Energy aiming to emerge as a key player in the industry.
